Like visiting an old friend, it was great to have a meal at the Lighthouse Cafe’s new location, 1020 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. I am a big fan of their pancakes and was delighted that “malted blueberry pancakes” were listed on the Daily Specials board. I splurged and added the Vermont maple syrup, too. It was well worth it. Just as I remembered, the food and service were terrific! We sat indoors but it’s nice to see that there is also an outdoor option. VIP Realtor and restauratuer, Mike Billheimer, has kept us up to date on the work it has taken to reopen the Lighthouse Cafe. Mike opened the original Cafe in 1987 and it’s now in the capable hands of his nephew, Dan. We are all so glad to see businesses continue to reopen on our beautiful islands! Check out the Lighthouse Cafe any day from 7 AM – 2 PM at its new location, 1020 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
