We were humming along with Bonnie Tyler’s classic tune while safely watching the something-less-than-total solar eclipse yesterday! But, it was still interesting to observe that our sun is so bright that covering half of it doesn’t effect us very much. So much for observing the Purkinje effect! Those red and green colors did not change at all. It was a nice try! And it was a good excuse to enjoy solar eclipse cupcakes! Work hard. Play hard. It’s the VIP way.
And it’s also our way to reach out to others to help whenever we can. So, our slightly-used solar eclipse glasses are being sent to “Astronomers Without Borders” who will pass them on to Latin American children who will use them later this year.
